Day 1: Crab Cakes

It is the end of day 1 and it ended with a nice treat (a 2 point skinny cow ice cream sandwich). Today has been okay. A few times I wanted to reach for the chocolate instead of something healthy, but I JUST SAID NO! I ended up right at my total of 24. So far so good. Tomorrow's goal is to drink more water.

Weigh in and SCREAM!!!!

My husband and I just weighed in and to our surprise (especially mine)....we weigh EXACTLY the same. This is a major bummer for me because I am 5'4" and he is 5'11" and not to mention the whole gender thing. Definitely need to do this WW thing. I am feeling very depressed and have been running through my head how this became what it has. I am feeling very ashamed at how much I weigh, and will not be posting my weight. I will just update with the weight I lose.

By what WW says, I should be around 25-27 points per day.

I started my morning by having a WW bagel with 2tbs of fat free cream cheese (3 points in total) and a cup of blueberries (1 point). This pretty much filled me up for the morning - it also helped that I busied myself preparing meals (dinners) for the week.

For lunch I had a WW frozen meal (7 points). I will do my second snack (was too busy that I forgot the first snack) and am looking forward to the crab cakes and salad for dinner. Crabcakes (2 decent sized cakes) are worth 5 points total and I will have a side salad with 2 tbs dressing (Italian) worth 1 point.

I am excited to do this plan, especially with the support of my husband - he decided NOT to have a frozen pizza (with our usually serving size worth 16 points!) for lunch for the football game. THANK GOODNESS he decided not to have that because I don't think I could control myself with the smell of pizza in the house!

I will post the recipes of the food I made later today.

How many Weight Watchers Points Am I Allowed

How many Weight Watchers Points Am I Allowed

Getting Ready

12.30.10

I have really been thinking about starting a "healthy" eating routine to help me lose weight and become a healthier person. I have been hearing about different programs...but to tell you the truth...I HAVE NO MONEY to spend monthly on a program. I have had several people lose a lot of weight using Weight Watchers Point System so I have decided to do this program myself - without the help of monthly weigh-ins and the price tag of joining.

I have twisted the arm of my husband to join me. I think it would be great for support....PLUS...he is known to stock the cabinets with yummy treats and bake awesome chocolate rum cakes. Better to have him on my side so there is less of these temptations in the house.

I have created this blog to keep track of my progress...share and review recipes that I try...and to maintain some sort of diary/journal where I am truthful about my struggles, etc.

Right now I am compiling a grocery list for next week's meals. This is going to be more work on my part. Instead of eating out a few times a week, I will now be cooking. This will be "fun" because I have 2 very needy children.

I will post tomorrow my meal plan....REAL starting weight (eek!) and a reasonable time line for weight loss.
